Give Your Opinion Event for PhD’s

Last spring, most of you filled out the PhD survey on work and workplace experience. We hope you have all seen the results of the PhD survey by now. In case you missed our last email, the results of the survey will be included in this email as well. The results have already been discussed within the Board of Studies of the Faculty of Geosciences and are taken very seriously. We all think that as part of improving our workplace, it is very important to hear the voices of the PhDs themselves, to hear your explanation of some results and think together of possible solutions.

Therefore, we hope you will join us on Tuesday the 21st of September 12:30-14:00 in the Bestuursgebouw – Van Lier en Egginkzaal during your (extended ?) lunch break. The meeting will have a hybrid form, so it will also be accessible for people who find in person meetings uncomfortable with COVID in mind. For everyone that decides to join us in person we will provide a FREE lunch, for everyone that decides to join us online we will make sure that your voice is also heard and you can participate in the discussion.

To make sure that you all feel comfortable with sharing your opinion and ideas the event is hosted by us, the Young Geo Council. We have also invited drs. Eveline Helsper, she is a Policy Advisor for our faculty and she can represent your opinions within our faculty.

Lastly, we know the event slightly coincides with the ‘presenting with impact’ and ‘writing for scientists’ course. We hope the participants of these courses will still join, it is no problem if you arrive a little late or leave a little early.
